Maison Guimet (Hôtel d’Heidelbach) will reopen its doors on May 23, 2026, for Museum Night and will be open to visitors starting May 24.
In May 2026, the Hôtel d’Heidelbach will reopen its doors to the public following an ambitious renovation.
Renamed “Maison Guimet,” this exceptional residence, located just steps from the Guimet Museum, is now embarking on a new chapter in its history.
Conceived as a new showcase for the museum’s Chinese collections, Maison Guimet highlights a remarkable collection of pieces, most of which are of imperial craftsmanship. Lacquered screens, cabinets adorned with dragons, porcelain, and cloisonné incense burners create a dialogue between the splendor of Chinese aristocratic residences and that of a Parisian mansion.

A unique space on the ground floor offers a deep dive into the tea arts of China and Japan through a selection of objects and ceramics associated with these ancient rituals.
Finally, in the Japanese-inspired landscaped garden of the Maison Guimet, a tea pavilion built to the highest standards by the finest Japanese artisans hosts authentic tea ceremonies, just like in Kyoto!
A rich program of guided tours, literary events, introductory sessions, and tea tastings further enhances this new cultural and sensory experience in the heart of Paris.
